Guayaquil, also known as the “Pacific Pearl”, is the political and economic capital of Equator. It’s considered one of the most important ports in South America. Thanks to the privilege climate of Guayaquil, the city can be visited at any season of the year, because there are no extreme temperatures; nevertheless, the climate is more humid in winter (from January to May). Zorritos is a northern city on the department of Tumbes, famous for its beaches and for being the ideal destination for the summer visitors and lovers of aquatic sports. Most of its touristic attraction is at the beaches and the relaxing style of the marine life of the environment. Punta Camarón is one of the most important beach cities of crystalline water and an excellent weather. Los Pinos is a beach that stands out for the presence of artisan fishers and for the practice of aquatic sports as diving and surf. Close to the beaches you can find an area of thermal baths and mud, also busy, that has supposed healing and therapeutic properties, called Hervideros. In Zorritos you can taste dishes as “ceviche de mero, chicharrón de calamar and chupe de cangrejos”, representatives of the local gastronomy flavor, based on marine ingredients.
