Lima Cerro de Pasco

Named the "city of kings" when it was founded in 1535 under the hispanic foundation, it was known as Limaq by the local natives, which means "chatty". Lima is famous for being the viceroyalty capital of Peru and one of the cities most important of South America in the spanish regime period; after its independance in 1821 the city became the republic's capital. Before this period, the Baroque and Neoclassical style took the power on the streets, impregnating those architectural styles in the main constructions. The capital counts a high variety of tourist attractions that combine history and modernity, as you can see on the Historical Center. Another strong point of Lima is the food, there are many restaurants from the 3 Peruvian regions where you can live a complete gastronomical experience, given that the population is multicultural and mostly migrant. Live Peru from one of its corners, and enjoy tasting the culture that Peru offers you!

Cerro de Pasco

Cerro de Pasco is known as the Mining Capital of Peru due to the large number of silver, copper, zinc and other minerals deposits, which are located close to the city. In the 16th century the city was called Villa de Pasco and from the beginning the city was recognized for its mining wealth and had an important role to the Spanish Crown, after the bankruptcy of the mining settlement of Potosi in the 18th century. In Cerro de Pasco was born the medicine martyr Daniel Alcides Carrion, who inoculated the peruvian wart virus, that killed hundreds at that time, with the aim of finding the cure. Even if it's a city dedicated to mining industry, Cerro de Pasco has several tourist attractions as different Europe styles on the streets; the city has a quick access to the peaks of Huaguruncho and Huayhuash, where you can practice high mountain sports and admire diverse peaks nearby. We also recommend the Santuario Nacional Bosque de Piedras de Huayllay to admire species of flora and fauna from the area and the thermal baths Calera, where you can take a relaxing swim inside the cold weather of the area. The gastronomy of Pasco will allow you to taste a delicious "pachamanca" with a variety of meats, a "picante de cuy" with potatoes and a special dressing and the "caldo de cabeza" to recharge one's batteries. You should have warm clothes to get to know the surroundings of the city, since Cerro de Pasco has lots of stories to tell and you shouldn't miss them.
