Named the "city of kings" when it was founded in 1535 under the hispanic foundation, it was known as Limaq by the local natives, which means "chatty". Besides those tourist places, Juanjuí has a high variety of archaeological and natural sites to visit, as the waterfalls of Breo, which have a drop close to 140 meters of altitude.
