On this date the celebration is coloured and happy, feature of the jungle towns with dances, music, food and chants. The most beloved character of the festival is the Carnavalón, a dressed up participant that is the representative of the carnival festive spirit. Some typical dishes that you should taste in Rioja are "tacacho con cecina", "juanes de yuca", "patarashca" and "masato".
